Given the hideous and prolonged battles between Democrats and Republicans, it is a no-brainer to say that the two-party system has failed us. It used to work, I suppose, but that was a kinder and gentler time. Today, thanks to Donald Trump, The United States is rotting from the inside out.

With the scourge of Covid-19 and the police becoming more and more brutal each year, no wonder that people of good conscience are not respected. Instead, we hear Donald J. Trump lying through his teeth and fake tan about any number of critical matters.

He does not have the capacity to love or empathize. His team goes along with whatever he says and that doesn’t say much for them.

So many lies. So little time.

Trump refused to model mask-wearing behaviors, so many people never put them on. He held a campaign flouting social-distancing and now we have Covid-19 threatening to flood ERs all over again.

He spews invectives toward innocent people and is repulsive to look at with his orange makeup and ludicrous hair. He is oily and ignorant, low and posturing, fat and ill-mannered.

I usually write spiritual essays and in a way, this is one as well.

I blame Trump’s supporters as well as him. Those church-going cheerleaders that view him as godly.

Well, those cheerleaders will fall to the Covid virus as well as well-intentioned innocent men, women and children.

The media has whipped people into a frenzy and that doesn’t help. We are drowning in speculation and spin.

The apocalypse is upon us. May God have mercy on our souls.
