Hello and Goodbye, or Goodbye and Hello

These quotes are all to be found in my new ebook, “The Edge of Enlightenment. It is available only on my website and only if you make a donation. Since there were only a few takers, I am taking a leave of absence. Hopefully, that will make the heart grow fonder. We shall see. Enjoy.

QUOTES FROM THE EDGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT by Vicki Woodyard

“Ego is a flashlight; soul is a light that never fails.

The guru is grace and we, once we see it, are that as well.

There are people selling you enlightenment that couldn’t get security clearance at Walmart.

Never doubt your heart. It is the One. The mind is just there to fall away when you get to a certain point on your circular journey. You will smile.

Quit aspiring to perfection and relax into what God created you to be. Himself and yourself, which is exactly the same thing. Cool.

Eternal love has no payoff. Once you see that payoffs are simply ego-driven, you begin to see more clearly. I am learning the final lesson of love. It starts and ends with me. If I don’t give it to myself, it will not be there at all.

Silence and solitude invite the weary soul to rest.

There is no free will. You show up or you don’t. You win or lose. You live or die. None of it is up to you. Everything moves as a whole. One star doesn’t shine alone. It shines with every other particle in existence. With every other wave that ever was. We are in concert live.

I have walked through fire for years. I finally learned to apply the sweet salve of NO to my aching soul. A NO to the world is a yes for oneself, for the God within that is your salvation. No true teacher offers a steady stream of indigestible pap. They heal you by cutting out the fear and pain and that requires a NO to what is killing you.

Only illusion can die. The parts of us that are eternal are unknown to the parts of us that can die. We live in a mysterious universe where nothing happens by chance and yet it appears to be just the opposite.

Losing a child and mate is like losing limbs, like moving to a foreign country when you don’t want to go. But over time I have learned the language and studied how the light comes in through the broken windows of my spirit. One day I will walk out of the house for the last time. Until then I am here in my solitude.

There is nothing to hold onto. Once you see this, you will change. You won’t become a pessimist but a seer and seeing becomes more and more natural for you.

The intellect must be shattered beyond recognition, like a pinata broken open and emptied of all its treats. This is called awakening.

It is not so important to be seen as to see.”
