Dear Fellow Hunker-Downers, as Leslie Jordan calls us,
Some things are becoming plainer by the day, at least to me. My son and I are the only two people in this household. He can go out to get groceries, but he risks spreading the virus to me. I am beginning to use grocery delivery now. I am also going to make menus to know what kind of ingredients we use the most. If illness strikes, we need canned soups, crackers and sodas. So far, so good, though, on the health front.
Since I studied under Vernon Howard, I know how illusory our sense of well-being is if it is projected onto other people. God is the only security. It does help to have another person in the household, though.
The world is becoming darker and darker as the days go by. No one is listening to the clues coming to us from people that understand science. One day there will be a reckoning on our use of the planet’s precious resources. Donald Trump has no regard for them, just as he has no regard for people or for education, even. He cannot even read from a script!
It is time for us to re-connect to our own inner knowing on a daily basis. This in itself is a kind of prayer. Being in social quarantine, we have time to get to know ourselves better than we ever have before. To speak personally, I am grateful for living a simple life. Each day is a chance to be in silence for short periods at a time.
As the world gets darker, your inner work must become lighter. “My burden is easy and my yoke is light.” Surrendering to your own truth makes you a magnet for greater Truth to flow through you. Be a beacon of light as much as you can.
I am grateful for the truth tellers in the media; we rely on them to find out about the outside world.
I am grateful to be a writer in this time of travail. I can offer dippers of water to thirsty travelers. The oases are becoming few and far between.
Love,
Vicki
