Saturday Night Reverie

Time cannot crawl across your face now.
You left us peaceful as can be.
Alone unto the Father you did wander
All the while still looking back at me.

And we loved beyond the borders of tomorrow
And we wept until the river washed us clean.
The love we shared has taken us forever
To a place where time cannot be seen again.

Father, daughter, gone now to forever,
Where love cannot be torn again.
Mother, son, now join a chain of pilgrims
Walking in the waters of what is.

Eternity now blesses all the wrinkles,
Blesses all the anger and the pain.
Looks down upon us all, just children waiting
For the love that never has to part again.

  1. An extremely touching and wonderful poem. The greatest love, comfort, healing and peace are from our Eternal God. Thank you very much, Vicki, for the beautiful reminder.
