Knocked over with a feather….

The month of August was crazy. I found eleven hawk feathers in my yard. In different places of the yard at different times of day. Spirit was speaking to me; it literally knocked me over with a feather!

The refrigerator died and a replacement came today. With over a week without it, I ate out a lot and the scales reflect it. Lots of chips and salsa, refried beans with cheese on top. Yeah, I tended to eat Mexican more than anything else. This morning I had a five dollar lunch at Los Bravos, if you can believe the price. And it was good.

I got new glasses and then discovered they were not working for reading, so I had my regular eye doctor’s office check the prescription. The verdict was that the bifocal area was set too low, so off I went to the place where I got them. I ended up ordering different frames and a higher magnification. I am wearing the others until that pair is made. Oy. Too much change in too little time.

Tonight as I was sitting on the couch watching TV, I had what Oprah calls an “Aha Moment.” It struck me to ask the question, “Just who is this person in my head that keeps trying to call the shots?” Because she is not the one dropping the hawk feathers all over the yard, now is she?

Did she make the fridge die and the glasses not work right? I don’t think so, because she is working like crazy to keep all the plates spinning. Wow.

From there, pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place and clearly, “she” was not doing it. Who was Jesus talking to when the devil begin to challenge Him? Who am I being challenged by when random events happen? Maybe there is no such thing as a random event.

“That’s it,” I thought, and yet it was not a thought but a deep realization. Everything is a parable for those with ears to hear. “She” is deaf and dumb.

I hope you are feeling the silence in this sentence because I am.

‘Nuff said.
