A Grateful Heart

“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.”
― Robert Frost

I am really moved beyond words by the uptick in sales for Bigger Than The Sky. It’s been a long time coming. Writing books is a risky enterprise because love must be why you do it. And then you think, “Well, if this is love, it sucks, because no one is reading what I write.” And then you try and talk to God and He’s all, “I’m busy right now.”

But then Jeff Foster helps you and then Oriah Mountain Dreamer helps you and you’re like, “Well, maybe they are standing in for the Man (or Woman). Peter always spoke of God as “She.” But then he believed that cats were people, too.

So it has been, as usual for me, an uncertain endeavor, getting the story of Peter and I out into the world of the internet where books are delivered 24 hours a day. Most of the time I sigh with defeat and write on, doggedly committed to something I know nothing about.

It’s bedtime in these parts. Thanks for listening and if you have an in with God, who DOES use stand-ins but only pays scale, tell Him (or Her) that I am grateful and I may even start book number #4 on a wing and a prayer.

And as my muse, Leonard Cohen always says, “Hallelujah!”

Love,
Vicki Woodyard
