Winter is nature’s way of saying, “Up yours.” ~Robert Byrne

It is so cold that people are snapping in two.
So cold that trees are buying coats.
So cold that the sky is breaking off into bits.
So cold that birds are singing songs from last year.

It is so cold that the weatherman is a snowman.
So cold that we have forgotten how to spit.
So cold that we must rub our hands together
before we can get anything at all done.

It is so cold that lovers are indifferent.
So cold that magicians cannot saw anyone in half.
So cold that the stars have gone on vacation
and the moon is on hiatus as well.
Do tell.
