Taking Care of Business

“Some folks can look so busy doing nothing that they seem indispensable”
― Kim Hubbard

Your being takes care of business. That is a powerful sentence to sit in front of and appreciate. You see, being always takes precedence over doing. That is how the universe is set up for maximum effectiveness.

When your doing overreaches itself, being will ring an alarm in your head. “Red alert. Red alert. She or he doesn’t have the energy to do that right now!” And you will find yourself lying down, feeling ill or otherwise moved out of the arena for the time being.

This always happens to me in January. Without fail. My sentry guards are just waiting for me to go into overload. They know I am feeling antsy, unfulfilled and desperate. They know that “doing” always seems like such a rational solution but it simply doesn’t work.

Our being IS our doing but our doing isn’t our being. It sounds complicated but it is really simple. We are the Self and the Self is bullet-proof.

If you don’t know what to do next, please stop and do nothing. It will improve the muscle tone of the cosmos! Those flabby-abbed people who are desperately working off their holiday weight will thank you. So will God. And I have no idea who He or She is. But somehow I don’t have to know anything. All I have to do is be.

If I have scared you into being silent, you are welcome! Savor the flavor of nothing going on in your life but silence. It may not always be golden but silver may be good enough.

Happy New Year from an ex-doer.
