The Freedom of Silence

I went to the grocery on the Fourth of July. And now, home again, I re-enter the silence. I am working on 2 statements.

“I am doing this to me.”
“Work hard gathering energy when you have no problems.”

The silence knows what to do with these sentences, which are energy statements that set you free from your crazy mind.

As I get older, I do indeed get wiser. I understand that the theater of my mind is filled with actors that need to be canned, pulled offstage with the hook, and worse!

Then I can get out my broom and sweep the stage clean. Physical activity is good for the soul. So like Carol Burnett portraying the char woman on her TV show, I sit on my bucket and reflect on the virtues of simplicity.

Ah, now we’re getting somewhere! But not in a hurry, not in a jumble, but in a state of awareness. What I do to myself can be undone by remembering who I am in essence.

In essence, I high-five the stars, my brothers and sisters of the cosmos. I get jiggy with the trees. I do as I please. For I am free right now.

On this holiday we celebrate freedom. I shall rejoice in the freedom of silence. Firecrackers are not my bag.

Love,
Vicki

  1. “Work hard gathering energy when you have no problems.”

Hmm . . . that’s a very useful reminder Vicki – my thought for the day (if I can remember it that long!). Embed in memory? No good – too old. Write it down. Aha!

    1. I collect sentences that work on your energy body and that is my favorite one. Vernon Howard said it.

It heals you instantly of the ongoing energy drainage caused by your very own thoughts. (I am doing this to me.)

And the Kwan Yin vow: I vow to relieve the suffering of all sentient beings also works in the same way.

The Jesus prayer also works: Lord, Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner. This prayer, repeated like a mantra, soothes the soul.

  2. He was a teacher like no other. Few have ears to hear, but if they are so fortunate, his writings encapsulate the highest wisdom.
