We love the people
who are no longer holding on.
The ones dangling in
mid-air and others
falling headfirst into
nowhere.

We love the strugglers
and the stragglers the most.
The ones that can’t quite
make it up off the mat
because they don’t know
where they’re at.

We love the stupefied,
the mystified,
the rarefied, the
unclassified.
The ones stunned
into being loved.

We love to love
what we can’t love
in ourselves.
And that is so easy
to do that it is not
even an option not to.
